Lovo Inc. filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on May 27, 2026, and lovo.ai now returns an error on every endpoint. If you had a paid Genny subscription, this page covers the two things nobody else is documenting — what happens to your money and your voice clones — and then where to actually go.
Status re-checked August 8, 2026: lovo.ai and genny.lovo.ai both return HTTP 402. Pricing for alternatives verified the same day against official pages.
Reports through the first half of 2026 describe paid accounts being silently downgraded while billing continued, and the site kept taking signups after the filing. Before you shop for a replacement, go and stop the recurring payment yourself — see the steps below.
Chapter 11 is the chapter a company files when it intends to restructure and keep operating. Chapter 7 is liquidation — a trustee sells the assets and the business winds down. Barring an unusual sale of the platform to a buyer who chooses to revive it, Genny is finished. Plan on the assumption that it is gone permanently.
We publish cost research, not legal or financial advice. For anything beyond stopping a payment and asking your bank about a chargeback, talk to a qualified professional.
There is no working export path while the site is offline, and no data-return process has been announced. Treat anything that existed only inside Genny as lost — generated audio, project files, and the clones themselves.
The recoverable part is your source recordings. A voice clone is derived from audio you supplied; if you still have those original files, you can rebuild an equivalent clone on another platform in minutes. If you don't, re-record a clean sample — most platforms now need only a few minutes of audio for a high-quality clone.
Ranked for the typical Genny user: a creator or small team doing voice over, and often subtitles and simple video assembly in the same tool.
Genny bundled voice generation with a video editor and subtitling. No single tool on this list reproduces that combination. Most former users end up pairing a voice tool from above with a separate video editor — which usually costs less in total than Genny did, and means a future failure only takes out half your workflow.
Plan tables don't answer that. Paste your script or set your monthly minutes — our free calculator tests every tier on every platform and ranks them by what you'd actually pay.
Run the Voice Over Cost Calculator →| You used Genny for… | Move to | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A cloned voice for your videos | ElevenLabs Starter/Creator | Best cloning quality; re-clone from your original recordings |
| Basic tier voice over on a budget | Speechify Studio yearly | $7.92/mo for 120 min — roughly a third of Genny Basic |
| E-learning / corporate narration | Murf Creator | Purpose-built for that use case, team-friendly studio |
| The API | Cartesia or ElevenLabs API | Low-latency streaming on stable, funded platforms |
| Voice + video editing in one place | A voice tool + a separate editor | No direct replacement exists; splitting is cheaper and safer |
Genny is the second mainstream AI voice platform to disappear inside a year — PlayHT was absorbed by Meta and shut down on December 31, 2025, and now Lovo has liquidated. Both left users with no export path.
Two habits are worth forming: keep your source recordings outside the platform, so a clone is always rebuildable, and export finished audio as you go rather than treating a vendor's library as storage. Prefer month-to-month billing with a vendor you have doubts about — an annual prepayment to a company that liquidates is money you will not see again.
Almost certainly not. Chapter 7 is liquidation, not restructuring, and as of August 2026 every LOVO endpoint is offline with no notice posted.
Realistically no. Subscribers are unsecured creditors in a Chapter 7 case. Stopping the recurring charge and asking your card issuer about a chargeback is the practical route — and it's time-sensitive.
Not from LOVO. But if you kept the original recordings you used for cloning, you can rebuild an equivalent clone on ElevenLabs or Speechify in minutes.
We verify every figure against the vendor's own pricing page and date-stamp each check in a public verification log. LOVO itself was removed from our calculator the same day we confirmed the shutdown, rather than left in with a stale price — which is the whole point of keeping the log.
